Russian Experts…

Talk Russian was set up as a specialist translation company in 2001 to serve the growing English-Russian, Russian-English market.

Our staff now work with clients large and small across the English and Russian speaking worlds.

Our biggest strength is that we translate and proof-read in-house to maintain quality, accuracy and confidentiality.

Yelena McCafferty, Translation Manager and Certified Translator/Interpreter

Yelena moved to the UK in 2001 and continued her career as a Russian Translator and Interpreter. She holds a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting in English Law and is on the National Register of Public Service Interpreters. Until a few years ago Yelena also enjoyed part-time teaching English as a Foreign Language, which is her second qualification.

Yelena is a qualified member and a trained assessor of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. She translates various documents, from presentations to contracts, on a daily basis and regularly interprets for Talk Russian’s commercial, public sector and personal clients.

Yelena says: “I love the variety of projects we get. Although working in the translation business can feel a little isolated at times, the unpredictability of things that land on your desk or in your inbox more than makes up for it. The translation process is incredibly interesting, stimulating and educating as you learn new things all the time.” You can read Yelena’s interview here or connect with Yelena on LinkedIn.

Larissa is based in Moscow. She has been part of our team since graduating from the Faculty of Modern Languages at Kostroma State University.

Larissa is involved in both translation and interpreting and it is the interpreting side of the business that she enjoys most. “I love meeting people and help them communicate to do business together. Interpreting is very interesting, even though it can be stressful at times. As long as the client is happy in the end, perhaps after very tough negotiations, this is what matters,” she says. In her leisure time Larissa enjoys ballroom dancing.
