Certified Russian Linguist

Talk Russian's Translation and Interpreting Manager, Yelena McCafferty, is now a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists.

The Institute is one of the leading professional bodies for translators and interpreters in the UK and was granted a Royal Charter in July 2005. It also maintains the UK Public Service Interpreters database and sets many of the industry standards for translation and interpreting.

Yelena was given membership of the Institute after working as a linguist for almost 10 years. She's "delighted" to have been given the opportunity to join and added "it's great to be a part of such a prestigious organisation, and being in the Chartered Institute helps to re-enforce the high standards Talk Russian works to."

The Institute was founded in 1910 and has around 6,000 members in the UK and abroad.

Talk Russian was set up in 2002 to provide specialist Russian translation and interpreting services to the growing English-Russian market. Yelena added “one of the areas we now work in is to provide certified translations of business and personal documents to be presented to the UK or Russian authorities and being a member of the Chartered Institute means we can now expand this service”.
